A #1 New York Times bestseller, it’s the story of a foster girl living outside Munich, Germany in 1939, who, while stealing to survive, discovers books and steals them as well. During the bombing raids, she shares her stolen books with neighbors, including a Jewish man who is hiding out in her basement.
The Round House, by Louise Erdich, winner of the National Book Award for fiction. This coming-of-age story takes place in the Native American Ojibwe reservation of North Dakota and is a mystery about a boy who tries to understand a terrible crime that has transformed his family.
