Bio: Toronto born author A.B. Funkhauser is a funeral director, classic car nut and wildlife enthusiast living in Ontario, Canada. Like most funeral directors, she is governed by a strong sense of altruism fueled by the belief that life chooses us and we not it. Her debut novel HEUER LOST AND FOUND, released in April 2015, examines the day to day workings of a funeral home and the people who staff it. Her sophomore effort, SCOOTER NATION, is set for release March 13, 2016 through Solstice Publishing.

Favorite thing about being a writer: Being able to push boundaries well beyond what we, as an ordered society, can tolerate and to be able to do so with humor and gonzo.

Biggest challenge as an indie author: Sleeping. There is much to do and so little time to do it in.

Favorite book: Child of the Morning (1977) by Pauline Gedge

Before Vonnegut kindled my love for satire, there was Pauline Gedge and CHILD OF THE MORNING (1977).  A book for all ages, this one I credit for awakening my love not just for ancient history, but all history. How can we know where we’re going, if we don’t know where we’ve been?

  1. How can I find your book? I mean, “Pardon me, where may I order a copy of your first book?” I am the close relative of a much beloved funeral director, the hugest Vonnegut fan EVAH, and a would be indie author. I think I need to read this book!!!!

Tell me what you're thinking!
