On YouTube today – Book Club Mom’s Power Rankings – Top 10 Favorite Books!

So a few years ago, I picked out and posted my top ten all-time favorite books, but I never ranked them, except for my #1 favorite.

Today, I made my decisions and put them in order and you can see their rankings here on my new YouTube channel, Book Club Mom’s Book Talk:

I hope you’ll take a look and consider subscribing. I’m still figuring things out over there, so forgive me for my mistakes!

Thanks for visiting – come back soon!

  1. So many great books, Barbara. Gone With the Wind and To Kill a Mockingbird are probably tied for first on my list. I’ll admit, somehow I missed Youngblood Hawke…how did I miss out on this? I love books about writers. Again, nice job with the video! Love that sweater! 🙂

    1. Hi Jill! Thanks so much for visiting here and watching my video. Making these videos is a lot harder than I thought. So many takes! It was hard to narrow the list to 10 and then rank them because I have many tied for first favorites, just like you. I don’t know exactly what it is about Youngblood Hawke that makes me put it as #1. It’s just a great story and something you can really dig into. Thanks again and, although my sweater is really old, I somehow always get compliments when I wear it. Very cozy! Have a great weekend!

  2. Fabulous Barbara. Gone with the wind is one of my favourites too as well as To Kill a Mockingbird. I would have also had Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights and my favourite Hemmingway is The old man and the sea. Did you get my email? Sometimes they seem to vanish into cyber space.

    1. Hi Robbie! Thanks for visiting and commenting – yes Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights are great books and high on my list. It’s hard to narrow it down to just ten, isn’t it? I’m a big Hemingway fan, although I haven’t read all of his books. The Old Man and the Sea is definitely one of my favorites as well. And yes, thanks! I got your email and will post your profile next week. I’ll send you the link when I do. Have a great weekend!

  3. Barbara, this is great! Book lists are always a lot of fun and even more so on video. Your presentation is superb and an eclectic mix of books, some of which I’ve read and loved. I’ve never heard of Youngblood Hawke but will check it out after your recommendation… a engaging and well-written tome now and then is not to be missed!

    1. Hi Annika! Thank you so much for supporting my blog and my new YouTube venture! A lot of these books have won Pulitzer Prizes and other awards, so I’m not alone in having them in my favorites. I don’t know why Youngblood Hawke isn’t widely known. It is a book I return to every few years. We don’t even have a copy in our library system, yet Herman Wouk is such a well-known writer here in the U.S. Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

  4. Fabulous list of books, Barbara. LOVED The Kite Runner, All the Light We Cannot See, and Farewell to Arms broke my heart in two (that means I loved it). I don”t know why I haven’t read The Book Thief yet!

    1. Well I sobbed when I read The Book Thief so I think you will like it! I’m going to have to re-read The Kite Runner. It’s the only one I haven’t posted about. Thanks for reading and commenting, Jennifer. Looking forward to your next Sunday Snap!

  5. Great collection, Barbara, and loved your video, too! Gone with the Wind will always be a favorite. Good luck with your channel. That’s one forum I haven’t ventured into. 🙂

    1. Hi Lauren – yes, GWTW is excellent on many levels! Thanks for watching my video. I’m going to try to be less boring each time, but it is a work in progress! Have a great day – hope you are well!

    1. Hi Luccia – if you do read Youngblood Hawke, you’ll have to tell me what you think. It’s a tome! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you’ve had a great weekend!

  6. I’ve read a few of those books, Barbara, but there’s no way I could pick just ten favourite books. Congratulations to you for having done so.

  7. A great choice of books, many are my favourites as well. I especially love The Book Thief. I would have liked to know why you liked each book.
