Good suggestions — I’ve heard great things about Celeste Ng’s book. I’m finally reading A Man Called Ove, and loving it. This year I intend to keep track of my reading!
I’ve heard a lot of great things about A Man Called Ove. I read a couple of his other books (My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry and Britt Marie Was Here). I didn’t care much for My Grandmother but I though Britt Marie was really great! And yes, you should definitely keep track and share your reading activity because we all want to know 🙂 Read on!
It is nice to see and hear you, Barbara. They all look like nice books. Good luck with work tomorrow.
Thank you, Robbie. I’m getting used to seeing and hearing myself. You have such a lovely accent, by the way. I’m cursed with the twangy North Jersey Girl accent!
Your comment made me smile, Barbara. I think you have a lovely accent. I think we hear ourselves differently to how others hear us. I always think I sound squeaky.
Haha! I get teased a lot for the way I pronounce “towel” and “dollar” but it’s where I grew up, so what can I say? 🙂
Just read Sea Prayer by Khaled Hosseini (short poetry book)–highly recommend. Starting The Bad -Ass Librarians of Timbuktu by Joshua Hammer. Both of these for local book club. New on my kindle The Big Kid and Basketball by Thomas Dahlborg, Sr. (newly published Maine writer). Happy reading, Barbara!
Yes, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Sea Prayer. I’ve read all of Hosseini’s other books and enjoyed them very much. Thanks for sharing your current book titles. Since I work in a library, maybe I’d like The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu! Thanks for visiting, Bette!
Happy reading and blogging, Barbara!
Looks like you’ve got a lot of great reading lined up, Barbara. As my parents are in the middle of downsizing, I just inherited my father’s complete collection of John Grishman books. Some I’ve read, but many will be new to me. There paper copies and hardbacks though, which I can’t read while on the treadmill, like my Kindle. Happy New Year! I was back at work today, which is okay. I do like my routine. 🙂
That’s cool that you can read your Kindle while you’re on the treadmill! I guess you’ll have to save the print books for the breakfast table! Happy New Year to you, too, Jill. We are almost out of the holiday routine. Work and school for some today and I go back tomorrow. I worked all last weekend, though, so I was glad to have a couple days off during the new year celebrations. I’m also a routine person so I’m much happier when I’m on a schedule!
I sure enjoy seeing your friendly face as you recommend great books to read! Thanks for taking the time to video/edit/post! You’re amazing!
Oh, thank you! I’m slowly getting used to seeing and hearing myself. Thanks for watching!
Happy Book Year, Barbara!
