Hi and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. I was going to do a special post featuring books about motherhood, but I’m just going to reblog this October 2019 post instead.

  1. It’s good to see familiar book covers here. I’ve read Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club and another book by her. Also read: Rebecca Wells’ Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood.

I enjoy Barbara Kingsolver’s books but I haven’t read the title you posted, The Bean Trees. Maybe I’ve read White Oleander, but can’t remember when.

You’ve assembled a great collection for this Mother’s Day. Thank you, Barbara!

  2. I’ve read (surprisingly) about half the books on your list! The Divine Secrets is a particular favorite.
I’m now compiling a list of books to get for my grandson and Make Way for Ducklings is one of them.Have you ever read Blueberries for Sal?

    1. Oh that sounds so familiar! I’m going to check right now…ah, yes, I remember looking this up when I reviewed Make Way…, but I haven’t read it. I think it’s so cool that the author illustrated his own book. He was great at both things. 🙂

Tell me what you're thinking!
