Book Club Mom’s audio reviews and random thoughts now on SoundCloud!

Hi Everyone,

Thank goodness I have young people around me (you know who you are 😊) to provide me with endless ideas for my blog! Last night my consultants helped me develop the idea of jumping on SoundCloud to record book book reviews. So I figured out how to do voice recordings on my laptop, made a SoundCloud account and this morning I recorded my first audio review (My Sister’s Grave by Robert Dugoni). It was so much fun I immediately did another recording – this one a random one, talking about blogging, the idea of making money on my blog, and taking breaks (stemming from my recent feeling that I was burning out a bit on on the blog). I hope you’ll take a listen!

You can check out my random ramblings here and you don’t need a SoundCloud account to listen:

Thanks for visiting – come back soon!

  1. Good thoughts about blogging. I couldn’t stop listening because I wanted to hear how your personal story ended. I tend to avoid depressive stories–even though worthwhile–because I’m too affected by them. Maybe what happened to you. I have yet to need a long blogging break, but I am careful to protect my mojo. Maybe that helps!

    1. Thank you for listening, Jacqui – I really appreciate it! I do get drawn into the darker types of stories, but I’ve stopped reading some authors because they’re too down. It’s good to take care of your mojo!

  2. You’re fortunate to have good consultants. I’ve yet to want to take the jump into anything video or audio but you’re rocking it.

    1. Hi Ally – thank you! I like trying all this stuff out – I had a lot of fun with the audio. I can see it being a regular thing for me. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  3. HI Barbara, I will be interested to know if you think soundcloud podcasts are more popular than YT. I have done a few book reviews on my YT channel but time is a problem for me at the moment so I haven’t done anything recently.

    1. Hi Robbie – I found it easier to do and more fun. The YT book reviews I did were harder than my regular videos because I had to be more prepared. With just a podcast, you can have notes and no one sees! Thanks for reading and commenting 🙂
