I love this story—and I learned something too about Outlander which I hadn’t heard of either.
Hi Kathy! Thanks so much for watching 🙂 I didn’t know my charm was of a thistle until a few years ago when someone asked me if I was Scottish! I have so many books I want to read that starting a series is daunting. Maybe someday.
No, you’re not the only one, Barbara. 🙂 I’ve never heard of Outlander either. Beautiful necklace! Enjoy your weekend.
Hi Jill – as I said to John, then I’m in excellent company with you too 🙂 Hope you are doing well and having a nice weekend. I emailed you after I saw your email newsletter – I’m still trying to figure out how to comment and share 🧡
I’ve read the first book (it was published about 15 years ago I think) and have seen some of the series, but I wouldn’t have made the connection with the thistle emblem. Cheers.
Hi Lynette – it’s not exactly the same, but my friend made a connection and I thought that was interesting. Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! 🙂
News to me too, Barbara.
So I’m in excellent company! Thanks for watching, John 🙂
Always fun. You do such a nice job.
Thank you! 🙂
I love the Outlander series and have met Diana Gabaldon a few times. She is a lovely person. How cool that you have a necklace that matches the symbol. The books are amazing and I think you would enjoy them. The characters stick with you. My next Amanda book will take place in Scotland.
Hi Darlene – how cool that you met Diana Gabaldon! I think I would like the series. It’s just a matter of how much time I have. You know, so many books 😉
I know. I read the first 5 books when I commuted to work in Vancouver on the Skytrain. It was an hour each way. I can’t read in a moving car but on a bus or Skytrain I can!
I get that – I can’t read in a car either, even when I’m in the front seat. I can read on a train or an airplane though!
Yes, I have heard of Outlander but am not necessarily a fan. Perhaps I would be if I were Scottish. I like the charm on your necklace. I was also going to compliment you on your haircut until at the end you turned your head, and I saw a ponytail. Jokes on me!
Thanks, Marian. I appreciate you reading and watching! Maybe when I have unlimited time I will dive into a long series!
A lovely, amusing, story
Thank you, Derrick. I appreciate you watching 🙂
Well, I didn’t know that either, so you aren’t the only one! Not an Outlander kinda girl, to be honest.
I know people who are total fans – I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t read the series. Thanks so much for reading, watching and commenting, Davida! 🙂
Not only did I not read the series, I also didn’t watch the TV show. Just not my thing.
Lots of content out there for different tastes!
Hi Barb, I haven’t tried the Outlander series as of yet, but I have friends who loved it. As for the thistle, our stained glass windows have thistles of Scotland, roses of England and shamrocks of Ireland. I blogged about them a while back. 🙂
Hi Jennifer – I’m going to check that out now! Thanks for the visit/watch 🙂
Hi Barbara, you are not the only one who doesn’t know about Outlander. I don’t know it either and I wouldn’t recognise that symbol.
Good to have company! Thanks, Robbie 🙂
Hi, Barb!
That is a great story about Grammie’s charm and it’s connection (of sorts) with Outlander. I’m thinking you just might have to read it now! In your spare time, of course!! 🤪 Enjoying your blog!! Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Barbara! Thanks so much for watching my video and subscribing to my blog! I really appreciate it. I have another silver “grandchild” charm that was on Grammie’s charm bracelet. You probably have almost the same one – mine says “Barbara R.”😉 I hope you are all doing well 🧡
