Hi Everyone,

I’ve been practicing on my new piano and today I’m playing a little Bach for you. I hope you enjoy it!

    1. Thank you so much, Alethea. It’s a challenge of the mind, but once you memorize the piece, the hands seem to do well independently. The more I think about them, the more mistakes I make! I appreciate you watching πŸ™‚

      1. That makes sense. Sort of like touch-typing in a way, I suppose. I couldn’t tell you where the keys are at this point, but my hands know. πŸ™‚

  1. You never cease to amaze, Barb. Kudos to you for trying this.

I play hymns and folk songs on my piano although there is a book of Chopin Nocturnes on my music stand, which I don’t feel accomplished enough to play anymore without more practice.

Just now I heard your video. The melody sounds contrapuntal to me, but I’m no expert.

    1. Thank you, Marian. Yes you are right, the melody goes back and forth with all kinds of variations. It’s really more of an exercise, but I enjoy playing that type of song. Great for stress!

  2. If you want to hear a great recording, you should listen to Glenn Gould playing the Goldberg Variations. He did two recordings one in the 60s and again in the 80s.
