Hi Everyone! Today I’d like to welcome Donna Connolly, today’s contributor to What’s That Book. Thank you, Donna!

Title: The Little Cafe by the Lake

Author: Joanne Tracey

Genre: Contemporary Romance Plus

Rating: 5 out of 5.

What’s It About? I am a huge fan of Jo Tracey’s books. This has been my favourite one so far. If you are looking for a break filled with fun, friendship, food…and some sultry, fiercely independent characters, this book is for you. As a bonus, numerous mouth-watering recipes are included.

How Did You Hear About It? I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy of this book (which was just released on November 4, 2021).

Closing Comments: As many of the main characters in this novel also appeared in ‘Happy Ever After’ and ‘Wish You Were Here,’ this reading felt like catching up with old friends. If you haven’t yet read any of Jo Tracey’s books, I highly recommend them. Although this book is part of a series, it can also easily be read as a stand-alone.

    1. Hi, Barb – Thank you for inviting me to be a Guest Host on your site. It is a pleasure to be here. I also appreciate being able to give new release Little Cafe by the Lake a shout-out. It is truly a wonderful read!

  1. Thanks for the recommendation Donna! I try to stick to library books – and Chicago libraries don’t carry Joanne’s books. I may need to splurge…I’m always looking for fiercely independent characters.

    1. Hi, Janet – Thanks so much for stopping by. Our local library does not carry Joanne’s books either. But, the kindle versions are very affordable and make it very convenient to read (without the wait). I hope that all is well with you.

  2. I read and loved Happy Ever After and look forward to reading Wish You Were Here. Now, I need to get The Little Cafe by the Lake on my TBR list. I love knowing that I’ll be able to catch up on some of my “friends” from her first book… and maybe get a few new recipes 🙂

    1. Hi Annika – I agree, I was so glad to see Donna review such a nice book. I’m glad you’re convinced. Another for the TBR pile 🙂 Thanks for the visit!

  3. I am a Jo Tracey fan and read Little Cafe about two weeks ago. It is a good read and I recommend it to anyone who loves a sweet story with relatable characters and a happy ending. Jo writes with warmth, humor, and an insightful understanding of family dynamics. The brother/sister relationship in this book is heartwarming. Thanks for sharing Donna’s review.

    1. Hi Suzanne – I’m glad to hear from another Jo Tracey fan! This book sounds like the perfect story to pick up during the holidays. Here’s to the happy ending! Thank you for stopping by, too 🙂
