  1. Short reviews are good. We don’t need a synopsis of the book. As a writer, I certainly appreciate any reviews I get for my work. I think I have gotten much better at writing reviews as well.

  2. I haven’t been reading your reviews that long so I guess I am getting the changed version and enjoy reading them. I like a review to tell me what a book is about but not tell me the whole story if that makes sense. An authentic and honest video!

  3. Hi, Barb – Short, personalized and to the point are the reviews that I enjoy the most. Your current reviews are perfect to me. LIke you and others, I do not need a synopsis of the book — I can get easily get that from other places.

  4. As an author I ask readers to write just one sentence maybe two and add lots of stars. I expect longer reviews from reviewers on NetGalley and bloggers on blog tours. I appreciate the time a reader takes to read my books and feel blessed when they extend themselves to review. Reviews matter so please post them on Amazon because authors need the alogrithm boost. I write book reviews of authors who I am friends with. The length of the review is not as important as the tone with lots of stars.

  5. I love how authentic you are, Barb! I finally took the time to watch your YouTube video (yes, I am one of those ‘busy’ people) and appreciate your comments on your growth journey. I really enjoy your review style and love that you don’t spoil the end. Back in the day (like high school days), I was the type who skipped to the end all too often. Now, I want to savor the moments. Ah, maturity!

Hope all is well with you and your family! ❤
